Adopt A Raptor!

No, you can't take home a bird of prey. But, you can have the next best thing. By symbolically adopting one of the raptors we care for at the Black Hills Raptor Center, you can support a bird, support our educational work, and know that you are making the life of one of these raptors better!

South Dakota is home to a variety of raptors and the Black Hills Raptor Center, just east of Rapid City, is the only facility in the western part of the state that cares and houses these magnificent creatures who are orphaned, injured or imprinted.

• Ike, a Peregrine Falcon – the fastest creature on earth
• Soren, a Barn Owl – who brings a much-needed smile to everyone he meets
• Freya, a Red-tailed Hawk – the majestic queen of the Center
• Joplin, an American Kestrel – who makes her namesake Janis more than memorable
